Solution Architect Definition

What is a solution architect?

A solution architect is a role responsible for creating and managing the technical vision for a specific solution to a business problem. They design, describe, and oversee the implementation of the solution, acting as a bridge between the business problem and the technology solution[1]. They combine guidance from different enterprise architecture viewpoints (business, information, and technical) to develop an architectural description of the solution[2]. Solution architects are hired by organizations to provide technical expertise and guidance in developing software applications, systems, and other IT infrastructure to solve complex business problems[5].

It’s important to note that the specific responsibilities and skill requirements of a solution architect may vary depending on the industry and organisation they work for. They may also collaborate with other stakeholders, such as project managers, developers, and business analysts, to ensure the solution aligns with the overall goals and requirements[5]
